The Tail of the Beast

The Tail of the Beast

With eyes foaming
the beast pounced,
its fangs goring
the throat of its prey.

This prey, felt the beast,
could not grasp his power,
its mind defeated by his will,
its soul unable to gasp
one final, savage breath.

Then the prey screamed –
erupting with pain so electric,
the vanity of the beast

The beast let go,
its eyes humbled,
its tail wilted.
The beast felt
something new.
